About Me

Hello, my name is Calvin (alias Clownvin). I'm a veteran software engineer with over 15 years of experience, with a focus primarily on back-end technologies. I absolutely love writing and maintaining server software and offline applications. I'm also quite interested in game development, and games in general, mainly MMOs. My favorite MMOs are Guild Wars 2 and RuneScape (both versions), and I'm inspired by games like Minecraft and Dwarf Fortress.

I'm also very interested in free and open source software, especially GNU/Linux. I've been using Ubuntu as my main OS since early middle school, and recently have been using Arch on my personal laptop (I still prefer to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows on my desktop, since Ubuntu is exceptionally stable and less annoying than Windows, but still need Windows for various applications, mainly games).

I'm very excited for AI/LLMS and where they may be going, though I am very disappointed by the fact that AI is controlled mainly by a few shady organizations, like "ClosedAI". I think it is best for the future of humanity that AI systems are free and open for all to run and modify to their own liking, rather than being beholden to the whims of a few billionaires/governments.
